Life Insurance No Physical Exam?

if someone gets approved for a $250,000 30 year term policy with no exam but after 10 years died from cancer, should the policy still pay?

he wasnt diagnosed with cancer until 5 years after he had the policy but the Dr said he may have had the cancer for over 5 years

so would that be considered a pre existing condition? even if it wasnt in his medical records when he was approved for the life insurance policy???

SHOULD THE LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY PAY????!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer: Since he wasn't diagnosed with it until 5 years into the policy, the policy should pay out.

Only way it wouldn't would be if there is an exclusion in the policy.

For Purposes Of Life Insurance Testing, How Long Is Nicotine Detectable In The System?

I have a friend who just quite smoking and he wants to know how long he should wait before he goes to get life insurance (to get the physical exam). He would like to wait until there is no more (detectable) nicotine in his system. How long should he wait to get underwriting?

Answer: The actual enzyme that is detected (by a blood test) that reveals the prescence of nicotine in the system is called cotinine and is detectable for between 7-10 days after the tobacco product was smoked.

The person makes a good point above in that the life insurance company will deny the claim if he is a smoker anyway so he would be paying non-smoker rates for nothing.

Additionally, tell your friend to have an ounce of personal integrity and refrain from cheating the company or more importantly, the policy holders like you and I whose premium rates are based on not having people defraud the insurer we deal with.

Regarding Term Life And The Physical Exam...?

Is it normal for an insurance company to schedule an exam at your home? This sounds weird to me. I copied this from the SBLI website:

Paramedic exam: For all term life insurance plans, we schedule a simple paramedic exam – at no cost to you – in the convenience of your home or workplace.

Answer: Be very careful. Always have someone around even if not in the same room. Ask for a visible ID with a photo before allowing them to enter your home. Call the company for confirmation if any doubt. Any medical advice offered, consult with your own physician. You should not be asked to strip or be touched in an invasive or intrusive manner.

Is My Doctor More Interested In Her Pocket Or My Health?

I recently went for my annual physical. When my results came back, I got a call from my doctor's office saying "you need to make another appointment to come in and discuss your results." I said, "I don't need an appointment, we can discuss it on the phone." The nurse said she'd talk to the doctor and call me back - of course she never did. About a week later, I get an email from the actual doctor herself saying "your cholesterol was very high, that's why I need you to make

Answer: You are absolutely right. Doctors are legally bound to follow a code of rules that is based on preventing lawsuits. If they don't adhere to the rules they risk malpractice but if they change or update the rules of medical procedure they are also risking malpractice from the patients who were treated prior to the revision. So even though they know what they are doing is wrong even harmful they can't stop doing it. Sick as that may sound there is some twisted logic to it. Now here's the scary part: I spoke to an actual surgeon who trains doctors and surgeons to upsell surgical procedures to patients who don't need them! Simply to make more money for the hospitals and themselves not to mention drug
