Life Insurance Cover For Overweight People?

Does anyone know which company to approach for this? 3 have declined me so far, due to height/weight ration. My financial advisor informs me I am not alone, but the current financial climate isn't helping me either.

I have begun a new quote with Tesco online, and a company called the Insurance Surgery, but any other suggestions would be helpful.

No time wasters please.

Answer: due to the fact you have been declined by 3 allready maybe a reason for not finding insurance. it is like a red flag; all applications ask if you have been declined for coverage.

you may want to call a agent and speak personally on the phone; they may have companies they can help you with or guide you. i never heard of the 2 you are applying for, but then again, there are thousands of companies out there.

good luck

Where To Shop For Small Life Insurance Policy?

I have a son in college whose private loans I cosigned for. I need a small lfe insurance policy to cover the loan amounts (say $50K total) in the event something unforseen happens to him before he's had a chance to repay the loans. I tried a few of the online quote sites but they all seem to be geared towards much larger policies ie., $150-$200K or more. Can someone suggest a company that will sell policies w/ smaller coverage amounts? thanks.

Answer: Most life insurance companies use banded rates. Basically it means that it is actually cheaper for you to write a $100,000 policy then a $50,000 policy.

I would suggest that you work with a local agent in your community to help you with this. He or she will be able to search various companies and offer you several options at competitive rates. You can find a local agent by accessing the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America at this website: http://www.iiaba.net/agentlocator/findag ent.aspx.

I hope this information helps. Good Luck

Will Insurance Cover Girlfriend Who Lives With You?

My boyfriend and I live together and are going to get married within the next year or two (i am in nursing school and want to finish before getting married so we can afford a really nice wedding). He has United Health Care insurance and I've tried to find info online but cannot find the info i'm needing. He has this insurance through his employer. Can I be covered on his insurance without us being married? I see online you can do a family plan, but that's all i see. doesn't say if non-married couples

Answer: While it does depend on the plan as negotiated by his employer, most UHC group plans do cover domestic partners after one year of living together. You will be required proof (such as inclusion on a lease for at least a year).

UHC recognizes domestic partnerships regardless of gender or legal status. The information on his plan can be obtained from his benefits handbook or HR department.

ADDED: I keep seeing people here commenting on common-law statutes. If the insurer and the employer recognize domestic partnerships, legal status is irrelevant. State insurance and ERISA laws only detail who group plans MUST insure. Beyond that, the insurer can extend coverage

Picking Out Life Insurance For Myself And Family -- Help?

We have all decided that life insurance is a good idea for each person. But because we are all different, we're having trouble finding a good company. And yes, I know that meeting with an insurance broker is the smart thing to do but before we go ahead and do that we want to do some investigating online first ... sales people are always pushy and annoying so until we are 100% ready we don't want to go that route yet. We're just "window shopping" so to speak.

Myself:
Age

Answer: Nope. The insurance company that's best for your mom, is probably not going to be the one best for you.

Website links you'll get, pretty much all harvest your personal information to sell it as leads to hundreds of agents.

The reason why you'll get referred to a broker, is because there's no one company that's cheapest for EVERYONE.

So, since you want to research online, do some thinking - heavy thinking - about what the GOAL is, for each of the policies. And read yahoo personal finance about life insurance, and the Dave Ramsey "truth about life insurance" page. If you have a concrete goal set (like paying for sis's funeral), BEFORE

Should I Buy This Insurance Or Not?

My insurance agent is trying to sell me life insurance coverage that will cover my unsecured debt if I die. Supposedly it will prevent creditors from going after my family. I do have a large amount of credit card debt, but i did it all on my own, I am not married, and no one co-signed for anything.
I'm starting to think I don't need this insurance. I have researched online, and everything I can find says creditors may go after my estate, but my family won't be responsible for my bills. The

Answer: Look at it this way, his job is to get money from you. It sounds to me that's what he's trying to do. I wouldn't get it personally.

A Common Financial Mistake: Inadequate Life Insurance Coverage ...

In 2007, the country\’s first-ever 鈥楲ife Insurance Gap\’ study revealed that many Americans have just half the life insurance protection they needed to meet their financial objectives. While the importance of life insurance is understood well in the United States, most Americans think that just having a policy is enough to protect one\’s family. You need to honestly write down all that you expect your life insurance policy to take care of 鈥. mortgage, college fees for the kids, daily living expenses, etc. Life insurance is a very important decision for every family. The answer to this question can never be cast in stone, because financial needs are different for each family and change with the seasons of life. Write down seemingly minor expenses as well, such as plumbing and accounting because it all adds up. How will your family live after you are gone. Unless you visualize it and take the cost of living into consideration, you will never be able to arrive at the right amount. Another way to find out is for each family to work this amount out on their own....
