Becoming Appointed With Health/life Insurance Companies?

I currently sell health supplementals and life for one company and I am looking to become appointed with some others to "broaden my boarders" you might say. Some of the companies I've checked with want you to be a captive agent which obviously puts a stop to what I am wanting to do. Are there any out there who do not hold their agents as captive? Please give names or even links if you can. Thanks!

Answer: Some companies you could contact are:

Assurant Health, Golden Rule Insurance Co., United American Insurance Co., Motorists Life, Columbian Financial Group, Mutual of Omaha brokerage, Monumental Life General Agency Division, AIG General Agency Division, American Fraternal Union, Met Life brokerage. (Not in any particular order)

You can probably google each of these, and click on new agents, careers, etc. I don't know where you are located, so some of these may not be in your area.

In Canada, Do Health And Life Insurance Companies Require That Applicants Take A Drug Test?

I have recently applied for health and life insurance. The nurse will be coming to take tests next week. I am just curious as to what exactly do they test for (ex. cbc, electrolytes, ast, alt, etc) and do they include a drug test.

Answer: The nurse will ask you questions related to your health and get a form filled. A physical test of your height and weight along with samples of urine, blood and salivia if you smoke would be taken. Depending upon the age and other health problems mentioned she might do a Cardiogram.

Do Life And Health Insurance Companies Drug Test Minors?

I'm 16 and my dad is getting a new job which may require our family to switch insurance providers. This will most likely be as a benefit of my father's employment. Will I be tested?

Answer: Depends on the company I suppose. But I would imagine that they would only test the sponsor- your dad, and not the rest of the family.

Life Insurance Companies And Mental Health Issues?

Someone I work with is interested in buying a term life insurance policy but is afraid she won't get coverage because she has had some situational depression and has had a suicide attempt as a minor.

Do life insurance companies dig up health information of as far back as your health records go (minors?)?

Answer: They do look at medical history, however it does depend on how it's being treated, how severe it is now and how long ago she was a minor (was she being treated then? has anything changed since then?)

You best bet is to contact a lisensed insurance broker who has access to multiple companies. Your co-worker can explain her situation to the broker and they can contact all the companies and find out which one would have the best chances of approval, then you can submit an application then. Every company has different underwritting processes so some companies will look at it differently.
