I Want To Open My Own Yacht Chartering Co And Boat Rental Co Please Help?

When i am older i want my career to be owning a yacht charter company from different places ex. Hawaii, Flordia etc, what will i need to major in college what kind of funds will i need insurance? I also want to buy a piece of land on lake lanier and put a boat rental company with ski boats and pontoons and jet skis what else do i need.
Anything else?

Answer: It is a business - a hard and not very dependable business suffering from outside influences at many levels, weather, war, economic, social, legal - etc.

The requirement after a degree in Business Studies is for capital - and a lot of it. You will need insurance at any level, this will be costed according to perceived risk - the insurance providers perception of risk, not yours. That will include their assessment of your capabilities and experience along with the historic industry claims records in your chosen business type. A lean business model may be seen as good - or it may be seen as alarming if the Insurance provider thinks it could influence maintenance and safety decisions

i live in the bay area...
want to own a pesonal yacht/boat for my pleasur drive..
how much does it cost..
how does the insurance works for it.....and how much it will be
will the insurance policies same as we take for automobiles.

Answer: This can all vary incredibly. I've purchased sailboats costing anywhere from $2K used to $120K new, and they can get much, much more expensive than that.

Insurance costs and availability will depend on many things. If it's a smaller boat, used locally, you may be able to add it to a homeowners policy which is probably the cheapest option. However for larger boats or cruising away from home, you will likely need to purchase a stand alone policy.

The price of these can also vary greatly depending on the value of the boat, the liability coverage you desire, the deductible you select and the boating area you are covered for.

How Much Is The Fine For Hitting A Fire Hydrant?

I live in PA and last night I totaled my car. I have full coverage but I also hit a fire hydrant in the process. Do I get fined or does insurance cover it?? I also hit a pole and the fence around a boat/yacht place can they sue me? Thx in advance!
But how much would I have to pay if insurance doesnt cover it or whatever

Answer: As long as your insurance covers property damage, you will be fine for everything except the deductible. However, they may drop you from their insurance policy if you cost them a lot of money, so you may want to start shopping for new insurance. Especially if you have State Farm. I had a bad experience in my early 20s after being covered since 16 (through my parents) and was dropped right afterward.

Boat Question?

Im looking to purchase a sailing Yacht the sort of 18-20ft with engine and spinica etc but i have 3 questions #1 do i need a liscence 2# can i take that sort of boat to foreingn countries #3 it it an expensive hobbie ie. mooring fees insurance etc and below is a link for the boat im looking to purchase

Answer: I would contact the Royal Yacht Association and enrol on their seamanship course before leaving harbour.The RNLI spend too much time and risk their lives rescuing untrained sailors.

Q: Purchasing A Small Business?

thinking about taking over a small business providing boat / yacht cleaning and detailing service. it has 60-80 regular customers (boats).
so my questions are:

-what's a reasonable price for this kind of business? 100-120G?
-what other expense i should know besides insurance, cleaning supplies and hiring cleaners

Answer: All it sounds like your purchasing is a client list, it does not sound like his clients are on contracts to stay with him. I'll tell you what I would do. Print yourself some business cards (15.00), make some nice flyers (50.00) and advertise your own cleaning service for a few dollars less than his. Get a list of boat owners from the marina, and do a direct mail (500). There you go, I would not pay anywhere near the number you are stating. I wish you luck
