How Will 1st Accident Effect Insurance Rates?

My 17 year old brother just got into his first accident, no injuries, minimal damages to both cars. I don't know what we pay monthly for his insurance... I think $400, but I know nothing, so if that amount sounds really incorrect, disregard it.

I'm worried right now as to how this will effect the cost. Basically, just a rough guess, do you think it will increase by a LOT, a LITTLE, maybe not at all...?

Answer: That depends on your insurance company, some forgive the first accident.

However, normally, they will pay for the accident and then when it comes time for the renewal the rates will go up a lot.

The basic rules in insurance are the cost platforms change which are as follows:
-when you turn 30 they come down
- when your get married they come down
- less for females then males

These are because they are things in your life that an insurance company considers you more responsible and less likely to take stupid chances.

What you can do is increase your deductible and your rates will come down.

Will Rental Car Accident Increase Insurance Rates?

Hi,
I rented enterprise car but unfortunately bumped into a tree.I had full insurance coverage on the vehicle.

So I would like to know if that accident will effect my insurance which I have on my personal car?

Answer: Well, stop and ask yourself why it wouldn't.

It's you driving a vehicle, and getting into an accident.

Regardless of who's insurance you're in, it's still you being in an accident.

So, once you've realized that, then you realize that your question is moot, as you already have the answer.

How Long Does An Accident Affect Your Insurance Rates In Kentucky?

I was responsible for a minor accident nearly 3 years ago - how long will my insurance company charge a surcharge for that accident?

Answer: Generally for minor accidents and minor tickets, once 36 months pass they no longer look at those things. It can take 5 years for more serious offenses such as drunk driving, and 7 for things like a conviction for vehicular manslaughter.

Can You Avoid Getting Your Insurance Rates Jacked Up After Car Accident?

So you've been in an accident.
A minor fender-bender. Is there any way you can settle with the other drive without involving either parties insurance.

Basically, is there any way to avoid getting your insurance rates jacked up?

Answer: so...basically....Not every claim results in having your "insurance rates jacked up". I believe that only foolish people settle outside of insurance. Bad things can and do happen when that is tried.

If you have insurance, use it !

Teenager In Accident - Car Insurance Rates?

I was in a car accident yesterday. I hit an open door. The doors dented, and by the hinge its pretty banged up. My car isn't in the best shape either. How will this affect my insurance rates?

I am 17, and have been driving for a little over a year
I have All State, and live in CA

Answer: Yea your rate is going to go up pretty high because you are a teenager
