Can Anyone Recommend Wedding Insurance Companies In The UK?

I asked this quesiton already but it seemed to post on the US site. Anyways - getting married and starting to think about insurance. Can anyone recommend wedding insurance companies for me - thanks?

Has Anyone Gotten Liability Insurance For A Wedding Through Wedsafe? Are They A Reputable Company?

I'm looking to get general liability and host liquor liability insurance. Wedsafe gave me a reasonable quote, so I'm just making sure that it's a worthwhile company to do business with.

(I know Wedsafe specializes in "wedding insurance" -- in case vendors drop out, things get cancelled, etc. -- I'm not interested in this, just in the general/liquor liability piece.)

Answer: I did an AM Best check, and there's no insurance company called "wedsafe". They're probably an agency.

Check with your local BBB, and before you buy, check the ratings of the insurance companies that will be issuing the policies.

When Should I Get Wedding Insurance?

I'm getting married next July and have not yet booked anything such as the venue, church or the caterers. I am planning on getting wedding insurance just for piece of mind but when is the best time to purchase it? How long does it last for? Or should I wait till a year or 6 month before my wedding?

Answer: The short answer is as soon as you can!

Many of the wedding insurance policies available in the UK are valid for up to two years anyway and the sooner you purchase it, the sooner you're covered!

Anyone Ever Get Wedding Insurance?

Supposedly it covers anything from illness in the family to fire or natural weather disasters on the day of your wedding, where you will not be responsible for any money lost due to these causes. Does anyone know how it works, how much it costs (approximately, as a % of total wedding cost) and where I could get it?

Answer: Contact an Independent Insurance Broker, they are going to have to go to a surplus line carrier, depending on the cost of your wedding and how much coverage you want... that will drive the premium.

Should We Get Wedding Insurance?

my mom was telling me that i should get wedding insurance or something so that way if a vendor happens to not show up or something it will be covered for the money i lost..i'm not really sure if i should do this? where would i get it from? and how much is it?
also i was wondering.. in a limo is it just you and your new husband riding in the limo to the reception or does the whole bridal party? thanks in advance for everything!

Answer: I've never heard of such a thing. And, I don't know why you would need it.

The vendors you choose, need your business - they can't really afford to have bad publicity, so there's no way they wouldn't show - IF you have done your research, and found reputable people. If you hire your MOH's little brother's college room mate's ex girlfriends brother to be the DJ... then well, he might not show, but go with someone who is well known (not the cheapest guy either!) and you'll be good to go.

As far as the limo... Generally it's you, and the female members of your bridal party showing up in the limo, then at least you, DH, MOH and BM in the limo to the reception...
