Do U No Of A Local Or State Politician Who's Either In A 3rd Party Or Indie? |
(This pertains 2 U.S. answerers, since I'm aware that other countries may have more then 2 major political parties.) Do you know of any public officers on the state, county, or city level who ain't Democratic or GOP? The examples I know (as a CA'ian) are mayor, vice-mayor, city councilperson, county supervisor, assemblyperson, state senator, governor, Lt. gov., insurance commissioner, attorney general, etc. Also, is that third party/independent politician notably (un)popular or controversial in your
| Answer: I know quite a number of them. Some I know personally. At last count there were 192 Libertarians serving in elected or appointed public office. In my experience the independent or "third" party person is well liked. There's be more serving in office and running if more people would be less afraid to support them. The whole "lesser of two evils" thing, which is pure dogma, controls most people's voting habits. |
