Any Tips For Taking The Texas Life, Accident, Health Insurance Exam?
Question by 1MAG1NE | Posted in Insurance
Any input at all, how I should be preparing, how long it takes to prepare and what online sources to study would be greatly appreciated and I'll choose a best answer.
Answer: Well, study the materials. Take the practice test. If you can pass the practice test honestly, with 90%, you'll pass the real test. If you can't pass the practice test, you won't pass the real test.
Online sources aren't going to be a good STUDY tool. You need the study materials from the state. If you run out of practice tests, though, you can get more here:
I am going to be taking the Texas State Life insurance Exam Saturday and I was wandering if it is very hard and if health insurance will be on the exam?
Answer: Um, have you even looked at the materials? I'm asking, because they include things besides life insurance questions!
Texas has about a 60% first time pass ratio. I think it's because people think they can "wing it" and don't study. If you KNOW the material, you will pass. If you don't, you won't. You can't bluff your way through.
If you can pass the practice exam at 90%, without cheating, the first time you take it, you'll pass the real exam.
Yes, you need to know the AGENT laws, in the book, and accident and health stuff, in addition to the life. Texas doesn't have a life only license.
I am studying now to take my life & health insurance exam in Texas at the end of this month. I have heard good reviews about Vicki Gunvalson. I admire her work ethic and I would love to be successful like her. However, I have been told that you can’t make good money selling insurance. Is there anyone out there that has signed with her company, sold insurance from home part-time or full-time, or have purchased her internet selling book?
Thanks in advance!
Answer: I've never, ever heard of her . . . and I'm in Houston. Did you get suckered into some "get rich quick" program she's selling? She can't be very good at selling insurance, or she would be selling insurance, instead of trying to recruit others into this. I think she's making her money selling her "how to become rich by being an insurance agent" materials.
95% of new agents wash out. It's VERY hard work. It's 60 - 80 hours of work, the first few YEARS, to establish your book of business - dragging home on average about $50K.
What Other Concepts Do I Need To Know To Pass The Texas Health And Life Insurance Exam?
Question by filemon4951 | Posted in Insurance
I have taken the exam 10 times and I've been 3 or even 1 point short of passing it. I've studied the manual and I pass the online exams with 90 or above. I don't know what else to do! I've noticed that there are some concepts that I don't remember seeing on the practice tests or the manual. Some questions and answers are very confusing and don't make sense; they are also inconsistent/contradictory. I also wanted to know if the exam has changed a lot in the past year. PLEASE, ANYBODY HELP!!!
Answer: OK, every time you see a question that you miss - that 10%, you need to spend a LOT of extra time on it. You need to research each of the options, and figure out exactly WHY the wrong answers are wrong, not just why the right one is right.
The questions are NOT inconsistant or contradictory - they are tricky, tricky, tricky. The method that's worked best for me, is elimination - eliminate the most wrong answer first. Then weigh the remaining three - which one is most wrong? Eliminate that one. Then the last two - which is most wrong? Sometimes, a wrong answer can be wrong, based on an "or" instead of an "and".

Health Facts | Not Having Texas Health Insurance Is Not An Option

Without proper health insurance in Texas people are more likely to ignore health problems and avoid routine check-ups. Another common tendency of people without health insurance in Texas is to “self-medicate” with drugs or alcohol to cover aches and pains rather than getting to the root of the problem with proper medical attention and this leads to even more... Many times they avoid getting health insurance in Texas because they don’t believe they can afford it. All too often people are living paycheck to paycheck and struggling just to put food on the table and gas in their tanks and they just can’t... they too, feel they “can’t afford it”. Unfortunately, far too many working people in Texas do not have health insurance. If only these people understood the value of health insurance in Texas it would quickly become more of a priority to them....
