What Is The Best Private Medical Insurance Company To Use?

My husbands insurance through his job is outrageous, does anyone know of any good insurance companies I could check into ,to see if its any cheaper?

Answer: See if your husband can talk to his employer about running different rates for their health insurance. If they pick higher deductible plan, higher copay, or higher Rx it will lower your premium significantly. I also like Horizon the best, but it all depends on what you are looking for.
 
 

Starting A New Job - Company Offers Private Medical Insurance - Will They Will Ask For Your Medical Records?

I am thinking about starting a new job, but they offer private medical insurance as one of the 'perks'. Does that mean I will get a full medical before starting + they will ask for my medical records?

Answer: No. They may require a physical. no one has access to you medical records with out you permission.

How Would Private Medical Insurance Companies Handel A Pandemic Flu Out Break?

I know Republicans are so dead set against Universal Health care . People with out medical care will certainly spread disease with out even knowing it . Poor working class people who can not afford Medical insurance will certainly go to work with the flu or risk losing their income . People who work at restaurants drive a cab or work at a grocery store (who handle money BTW ) seldom have health INS. This is how the flu spreads so quickly.

Are There Private Medical Insurance Companies Who Cover Pre-exisiting Conditions?

I'm asking on behalf of someone I know who needs extensive dental treatment. His current oral health is due to neglect and he's been quoted in the region of about £10k to have it done privately. He is temporarily employed on a permanent basis and has a low income. I don't believe there's a cheap solution except perhaps dentures but would appreciate any suggestions. Can anyone suggest any options to look into?

Can I Opt For A Private Medical Insurance Rather Than Kenko Hokken Insurance Being Deducted By My Company?

Answer: Ok,

Most people on the "expat" plan avoid it because they seem to think that private coverage is better or cheaper.

The kenko hokken is income based thus if you have lower or no income it is actually very cheap. Also for the first year in Japan it is almost free (calculated on your last year's income in Japan which was 0)

It is difficult to get "top up" insurance for your Japanese spouse. If you Japanese spouse is not working you can be included together and it is cheaper for kenko hoken.

Childbirth is not covered unless c-section by kenko hoken. That is a good reason to have private coverage because even if it is

What sort of Private Medical Insurance could you get for NHS ...

I actually looked into the cost of private health care and BUPA coverage for myself and my family would be about £100 a month (£1200 a year) and thats for a fairly basic policy which doesn’t cover a lot of things and requires a fairly hefty excess. The NHS is by no means luxurious but at least we can get the care we need when we need it – theres no way we could afford to pay £100 a month, plus excesses, drug costs etc. We just don’t earn enough and as a family with a young child to care for, having access to health care is a major concern. I wouldn’t think you’d get very good medical insurance with that. Probably the sort with a massive excess and very poor coverage....
