I hear conservative boo hooing 24 hours a day about how a government run public healthcare plan will make it too hard for private industry to compete, yet i see loads of parcel companies (like UPS, DHL, FedEx, etc.) holding their holding their own against the United States Postal Service!
so whats the big deal? is it possible that republicans are afriad a country for the people by ethe people will choose the better deal given by the governement in a free market? or that their lobbying
Answer: Good point. The USPS getting competition from private firms like Fed-X and UPS has worked. Assuming the reverse is true, US Gov't backed insurance could add competitive pressure that keeps private health insurers from a virtual monopoly. Gov't insurance might require a tax increase, but you employer won't have carry huge expensive health insurance plans that make it impossible to hire people.

Answer: The best way is to go to a local, independent agent. They have a real office if you have a problem; they're familiar with your local marketplace, and know who is most competitive; and they know which companies don't have very many providers in your area.
I'm sure you'll get offers for "health discount plans" from this question. They are USUALLY a bad deal, and most people end up HATING them, because despite what's claimed, MOST providers won't take them.
