Can A Private Individual Get Mortgage Insurance? If So, How?

I want to sell some of my investment property with seller financing. Given the current state of the economy, I would love to get some mortgage insurance. How would a private individual who is extending a loan to another private individual go about getting mortgage insurance on the loan?

Answer: I would go to a company like www.mgic.com and call their helpline to see if they'll offer PMI for a seller financed deal. They'll definitely want to underwrite the loan prior to issuing the insurance.

I have kidney stones and if a problem arise and have to have surgery I want to make sure I am covered. That is why I need to have pre-existing covered

Answer: Unless you have previous group-based health insurance that has not been lapsed for more than 63 days, and that was in force for at least 1 year, you won't find a private insurer that will cover your pre-existing condition. If you have prior "creditable coverage," ask the insurer if you are able to purchase an individual HIPAA policy.

You should also consider calling the NJ Insurance Commissioner's office, which should be able to give you advice based on your options in that State.

Answer: Hey Zaphod,
You are being a bit deceptive here are you not? The clause which states the legal issue on p 16 is completely irrelevant. The goal according to Obama is a single payer, universal healthcare plan controlled by Czars and beauracrats within the government. Don't believe me, Just youtube it. He speaks about it a few years ago at an AFL-CIO conference. But you CAN NOT tell over 100 million Americans who are quite happy with the plan they have currently, (which they had the FREEDOM to CHOOSE) that it will be scrapped overnight, and replaced with a Govt. option. So instead, you will have the CHOICE to stay in the plan you have (at least while there still remains a choice anyway).

Private Health Insurance Options For 62 Plus Individual?

My aunt (in California) is 63 years old and she has asked me to find a private health insurance for her. I was informed that anyone that's over 62 can't have a private insurance and MUST only use Medi-cal or Medicaid. Is that true? She asked me to check with Aetna, Blueshields, UHC, etc. Any thoughts whether she can get a private insurance from these companies?

Answer: Not true. Medi-cal IS Medicaid.

But at 63, it's going to be veeeerrrrryyyy expensive, and they don't have to cover any preexisting conditions.

She probably needs to go to the government website - www.healthcare.gov - to find out what her options are. Alternatively, she should be talking to a local health insurance broker, who can help explain to her, AT NO COST, what her options are, and how much they're going to cost.

Since she NEEDS someone to do it for her, she should be using a licensed professional. It won't cost her anything.
