Is Taking The Kaplan Life & Health Insurance Class Better Online Or An Actuall Live Class? Any Other Tips?

Any pointer before taking the insurance test? any information will help! Thanks!

Answer: I took online course (not Kaplan) and did great on Texas exam. i ALSO used a written study and test manual. answering lots of test prep questions really seemed to help. It does take a little self discipline, but people often end up dropping out live classes 2 , Good luck
 
 

Am I Considered A "student" To The State, And Insurance Company If I Take An Online College Class?

I am 18 years old, I am taking a year off before i go to college for personal reasons, but my insurance is going to go up $2,100 for that year because I am not a "student". So to pass the time and save money I was looking into online class, and I'm trying to figure out if it will pass until I start next year at A&M. Please help with any advice you can give. Much thanks!

Answer: It's not "student" that keeps you on your parent's coverage, but "full time student", which means at least 12 credits per semester.

One online class isn't going to make you a full time student, and won't change anything for your health insurance. Although it sure will pass the time and enrich your mind.

Does Kaplan Online Insurance Courses Cover The Needed Hours For Prelicensing In Wisconsin?

I want to register for the life and health insurance class but before I do I would like to know if it covers everything. I tried to find it someone online but no luck.

Answer: Yes. I used them for Tennessee, the online study course fills the requirements for the 20 hours for life and 20 hours for health, you take a signed affidavit with you to the testing center.

Be very careful before the test though, I didn't notice the kaplan online course didn't have the state laws included in the study material there was just a link to the PDF for my states laws and I never saw it before the test, failed the life exam the first time on accident because of it, just in the state law section.

My 2nd try I completed the state portion in 10 minutes and passed AFTER I found the PDF to study. It sucks because you have to wait a month between tests.

What Kinfd Of Insurance Do I Need For This Online Classes Business?

People register for classes via my website and I pay the instructors as subcontractors. There will be a waiver of liability people accept before signing up for a class -- so what type of insurance should I get and how much can I expect to pay for the policy?

Answer: The waiver means NOTHING, fyi.

You probably need general liability coverage, and you need to make sure your subs have THEIR general liability coverage by requiring them to provide you with a certificate of insurance. You also probably want your subs to have Workers Comp coverage on that certificate, otherwise you could be held responsible if they don't meet the IRS subcontractor definition standard.

Professional liability is important, as is trademark infringement. If you get sued, it's most likely going to be for either a copywrite/trademark infringement, or for having a sub teach something incorrect that results in damages.
