What Is The Percentage Of Insurance Fraud For College Students Saying They Are In College But They Are Not?

I have several folks that have told me that they are still allowing their kids tages 18 to 23, to ride on their health insurance even though they know their kid has either dropped out of high school or college. How does the Insurance Industry handle this type of fraud...??? the folks i spoke too did not have any special requirements from the insurance company. How do they check this for fraud? If they don't they should....I see no special requirements.....And this type of fraud will come out of

Answer: Most insurance companies require documentation that the student is not only in school but taking the requisite number of credit hours to be considered full time.

The burder on this fraud doesn't fall on the tax payers but on the insurance companies since they are private companies and not government bodies. They, in turn, pass it on to those legitimately insured.

Is This Insurance Fraud?

I live in NJ, but my Grandmother lives in North Carolina, can I get a license there and say I live with her so I can register my vehicle through NC and get they're insurance rates?

If I get pulled over the most that I can see happen is I say I'm visiting my mother...

Answer: It's misrepresentation which is grounds to have the policy rescinded by the company if you're caught. This means if you have an accident and the policy is rescinded, you are officially declared uninsured and any premiums paid will be returned to you.

How Do You Find An Attorney?

My cousin got in a bit of trouble. Her boyfriend borrowed her car and crashed it into a tree and left the scene of the accident. She lied and told police the car was stolen, they knew she was lying, she got arrested and will be charged for a bunch of things including insurance fraud.
she's in NJ, morris county.
How can we find a lawyer and is there a way to find out if they are good?

Answer: Check with the local Bar Association Office and tell them what kind of case your cousin needs the attorney for and they will hopefully give her the name of an attorney who handles those kinds of cases.

When she is being interviewed by the Attorney she can ask him how many cases like this has he handled - and won, as well asking the Clerk of Court what if any info they can give you on this attorney as far as his track record goes. -

Good luck!
