hello, i am 17 years old and have just gotten my M1, i am looking at buying a honda cbr 125 (2008 in white). i was wondering if anyone had an approximate estimate on how much insurance may be, please do not tell me to go see a insurance broker, i will, but i just want to see if its even worth looking at. the bike is only a 125cc so i can't imagine insurance being insane. also i live north of toronto in a city of 120,000 people and would only be doing 20-30 kilometers a week (just going to school

hey, im 17 years old and live in Ontario, i recently got my G2 but cannot find a way to get car insurance cheap enough to actually warrant getting a car. I was wondering if anyone has any ballpark answer as to how much motorcycle insurance is at my age? every google search i do says "you should ask your insurance broker", well i will, but i just want to see if its even worth looking at or if its going to be like $300 a month like car insurance.

Answer: Well the bike still depends, if it is a sport bike or not. Insurance is not going to be nearly as much as a cars insurance but can still be quite pricey especially for a teen on a crotch rocket. I am only 20 (21 next month) and pay like 54 a month on my harley.

I got an online quote for my insurance broker, they took the reg and all was fine until i phoned up and they said they dont insure total loss vehicles.. so now im looking to find a place that will. Otherwise i will be looking for a frame n logbook from another bike lol
Answer: just to clarify: this is such a pain because there is NO STANDARD for declaring cat c or cat d; it depends on each individual insurers assessment of the percentage of the cost of the repairs versus the value of the vehicle.
There is also no mechanism to revoke an MoT. What is needed to allow a vehicle to be driven is up to each individual insurance company; some ask for a new MoT, some for an engineer's report.
I really wish this had been done properly as lots of people think a cat c is fit only for the crusher.

When taking out holiday insurance i used the same company i have always used but this time we were taking a motorcycle holiday so i specifically asked the broker if we were covered for touring around europe on our motorcycles or if i needed to take extra cover as this isn't an everyday joe bloggs holiday. I was placed on hold and the member of staff came back and told me i didn't need to and asked no further details.
My partner was killed in a motorcycle accident whilst on holiday in france.
Answer: Please accept my sympathy. Most brokers must take out E&O insurance (errors and ommission). If your attorney sues the broker the claim will most likely be paid by the brokers insurance. Its worth a shot.

Hi all,
I have been riding a motorbike for a few years and have a NCD with my bike insurer. I am wondering if anyone knows of any car insurance brokers that will take my motorbike NCB into consideration, as I have never driven a car before.
I have been searching the net, and found that Direct Line insurance allows you to do this, but I'd like to shop around a bit more!
