Should Insurance With Pre-existing Conditions Be Expanded For Car And Other Forms Of Insurance Besides Health?

I think it would be a great idea! With the new national healthcare bill I don't have to waste money buying health insurance because if I get sick I can just get insurance and they have to pay for it because it's a pre-existing condition! Next we can have it so that I don't need car insurance, but if I get in an accident I can get insurance and then they have to pay to fix my car! Isn't this a great idea?!

Answer: Works for me!! Where do I sign up?? Hell, I suppose... LOL

Question About Health Insurance & Pre-existing Conditions?

Shortly before being taken off of my parent's insurance plan, I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition that requires expensive blood tests and regular office visits. I have applied for insurance through my job, and when reading the bylaws I noticed that it does not cover pre-existing conditions. Will my thyroid disorder be considered a pre-existing when I was diagnosed only a few months ago? Will I ever be able to get any kind of insurance coverage for this disorder now?

Answer: If you've had continuous health insurance coverage (no break in coverage over 63 days), then you are fine. The HIPAA law protects you. All you have to do is provide your new insurer with proof of sufficient Creditable Coverage from your last policy, and the pre-existing clause should be waived.

If you did go longer than 63 days without health insurance, then you'll have to wait out the pre-existing clause to have coverage for services related to your thyroid condition. (Anything not related to the thyroid issue should be covered as normal.) You'll have to pay out of pocket for your thyroid issues for the first 12 months of the policy. (Or whatever time your policy states...the

Health Insurance Only For Pre-existing Medical Conditions?

I was wondering if anyone could help me on this.

I took out travel insurance with STA travel as I'm going to Ecuador to volunteer for 6 months. After doing so I have acquired a pre-existing medical condition... which means my travel insurance doesn't cover me for that problem. I cannot cancel the existing insurance as they have a 14 day cancellation policy so I was wondering if there existed medical insurance that is only for pre-existing conditions and doesn't serve anything else.

Answer: No, there isn't.

You're going to be "self insured".

How Strict Is Humana Health Insurance With Pre-existing Conditions?

I've had acne since my teens but it's really been bothering me lately psychologically and hurting alot when trying to sleep on my back from cysts. Also sometimes minor acne on my face has been causing permanent scars. I want to go to the dermatologist and see if I can get accutane, but I just got my health insurance beginning of the year and had no creditable coverage before that. According to their written policy, I might not be eligible since I actually went to the doctor and got antibiotics for

Answer: For $3000 in bills after you've been covered for only a few months, they are likely to investigate it pretty thoroughly. Also, Acne is something that is ongoing so it wouldn't be all that hard to prove that you've had a pre-existing condition.

A lot is going to depend on how that pre-existing condition clause reads on your coverage.
