Has Anyone Ever Used NASE Health Insurance, And If You Have Please Let Me Know What You Think Of The Company?
Question by melkasho | Posted in Insurance
Has anyone ever used NASE health insurance, and if you have please let me know what you think of the company. I just signed up for the insurance and have been hearing mixed reviews nothing all that great but alot of negitive remarks. Can anyone provide solid info on the company?
Answer: It is not major medical, it is a hospital certificate.
Mega (NASE) deductible is per confinement, which means if you go into the hospital 3 times in one year you have 3 deductibles to meet. Most plans’ deductible is per year.
Lifetime maximum for Mega is $1 Million. Major medical plans are $2 to $8 Million.
Mega has an annual maximum per illness of $500,000. Most Major medical have NO annual maximums.
Depending upon the policy, Mega will only pay UP to $500 per day if you are admitted to the hospital. Average daily hospital cost - $3000, Average stay – Three days. For the average hospital stay MEGA will pay up to $1500, you will pay $7500.

Do you currently have health insurance through NASE ? What are your thoughts ? thanks
Answer: NASE, or Mega, is a hospital certificate, not a major medical policy. I would not have the policy. There are many restrictions.

Health Insurance... Is This A Good One Since NASE Isn't?
Question by Butterflygirl | Posted in Insurance
I recenlty asked a question regarding our health insurance and was adviced against who were currently using... which I had already figured it wasn't a good one, and appreciated the confirmation.
I spoke with a rep over the phone, seems so easy and fast, and he represented different places, I think it was ehealthinsurance.com and filled out their survey. A rep called me and he recommended the following. Is this one a good one?
$299.00 per month (one time enrollment fee
Answer: Yes, you definitely do not want to choose a NASE plan (they are associated with MEGA life who has a long history of high consumer complaints).
Choose a comprehensive major medical plan from a well known company like Aetna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross, Humana, etc.

I am begining to research self employed insurancein the state of Texas. The coverage will be for 1 adult and two teeanagers. The adult utilizes mothly prescriptions and one of the teenagers needs braces.
Can anyone suggest an affordable company that has a great reputation. We are currently with NASE and the coverage for prescriptions stinks.
Thanks!
Answer: Some of the top insurance companies offering health insurance for the self employed in Texas include:
1. Blue Cross Blue Shield
2. UniCare
3. United Healthcare
Stay away from NASE (National Association of the Self Employed) as they are affiliated with the Mega Life & Health Insurance Company and have a history of receiving a lot of customer complaints (do a Google search or Yahoo search for Mega Life and you can read some of the customer complaints even on the first couple of pages of the results).
Here are some specific things to consider when looking for self employed health insurance and specifically some information about health
Which Health Insurance Provider, For Individuals In Texas, USA?
Question by JhonW | Posted in Insurance
Hi,
I live in Texas, USA. For last 8 months I didn't have an health insurance and I don't want to go with the employer's insurance for some reasons.
I want to take an Individual Health Insurance. Can you please tell me which provider to go with. I heard that NASE/MEGA are not good. Do you know an agent who can help me?.
Thanks,
Ravi
Answer: I concur about Mega.
If you're looking for an agent you can try the guy that does your car insurance. Often they'll also work with some health plans or they'll know someone who does. You can also ask friends or neighbor who their agent is. If all of that fails you can go to this website http://www.yourhealthplanadvisor.com/oos health.html and request quotes. You'll get several agents calling you. Go with a major company and ask the agent questions about the policy because there are hundreds of plans available and they're not all alike.
