What Is The Best Health Care Plan For Student While Attending Medical School, Like Nursing?

I'm a student nursing and ASAP need some health insurance, including Emergency Room coverage.
Does anyone know any type of Health Insurance for medical student like that, affordable and reliable?

Answer: Best is coverage under your parents' health insurance. Most goes to age 23 as long as you are a full-time student.

Otherwise contact the school and see what is offered to students in general - many provide access to this coverage.

Avoid emergency rooms. A visit can be as much as $1,000 for routine (unneeded) care.

Buying Student Health/Medical Insurance is a must at various universities. Buying it from India, before you reach there makes sense, as you save on the intermediary Indian Travel Insurance which you would need to buy.

Is Student Health Insurance Helpful If I Already Have KP Insurance ?

I am a freshman this Fall. I have KP insurance already. Do I still need to add student health insurance in campus ? Have any one know UC Davis health insurance ? KP doesn't have urgent care in Davis area. Is UC davis student medical center working on these kind sitatuion ? I lived in compus dorm. I don't have car . Have anyone give me advice ?

Answer: with KP you really don't need the student health insurance. Fill out the SHIP waiver. If you have some kind of emergency, KP will cover it even if it is not at their facility. As for transportation, don't worry, plenty of other people have cars.

With an association membership in AMSA, you can obtain a student injury and illness plan that provides wide ranging coverage and is designed to be affordable for med students. You might also be interested in joining the American College Student Association (ACSA), a national organization for college students. They have lots of member benefits, including student health insurance. With either association, the membership fee is affordable.
