What Pet Health Insurance Policies Are Recommended?

My dog has been on the Banfield Wellness Plan for a few years, but I am discovering that it is not one of the best health plans. Her current plan only allows her to get treated at the Banfield Hospital that the plan was signed up under, and they don't have extended hours. They are always closed on Sundays and Mondays, and it's difficult to find a vet that doesn't charge too much for anything. I'm trying to look for a different pet health insurance plan where I can take her anywhere any time during

Answer: Banfield Wellness Plan is not really insurance, but more of a plan through the corporation. If you want actual pet insurance, I would suggest VPI. My clinic does a lot with VPI and it is relatively simple and affordable. Check out the different plans they offer and make sure it suits you, then after you've signed up, this is how it works. Pet insurance is not like human insurance. You can go to any veterinarian, but the plan you choose selects what is covered and what is not. You can do whatever treatment you choose at your veterinarian's, just remember you have to pay for it all. VPI insurance forms are filled out by your veterinarian (bring them in with you or ask the front desk for

What Company/organization Has The Best Most Reasonable Price On Pet Health Insurance?

I have one dog with a preexisting heartworm condition and the other is healthy. Who offers a better deal? and has anyone gone through the ASPCA for pet health insurance?

Answer: Keep in mind, with any insurance policy, on average, the insurance company has to win.

In other words, they will take in more money than they ever pay out.

If it were the other way around, they would go out of business. My feeling is, that one is better off (if one can be disciplined enough) to put the money that you would have spent on the insurance premiums, and put it in a seperate account, that you don't touch, except for vet bills.

On average that way, you'll win. The only time this doesn't work, is if you have some large, unexpected bill show up that you can't absorb. In these cases, you can often secure some kind of loan or financing option

Approximately How Much Can I Expect To Pay For Pet Health Insurance For A Dog?

I am considering adopting a large dog. I want to get pet health insurance. Can someone give me an idea how much I'd be paying?

Answer: It completely depends on what type of insurance you get. Policies that cover just accidents are cheap, maybe 15-20 dollars a month. Other policies are available that cover almost everything, including preventative care and these are much more expensive. The most important thing is to know what you are buying. Read the fine print so you aren't surprised if something turns out not to be covered.
