I read online that some insurance companies pay for gym memberships to keep you healthy, but I can't find anything online about blue cross blue shield federal. I was wondering if anyone knew anything?
Answer: Not true. Some employer wellness programs will help pay for a gym membership, but that's seperate from health insurance.

i have blue cross / blue shield federal employee program insurance. i have extremely low test levels and i need treatment. would you happen to know if they cover this treatment ? thanks
Answer: If you have a diagnosed medical condition - Hypogonadism for example then yes most insurance companies pay.
I am currently under my mother's federal plan, as she works for the govt. But if I am not mistaken, they cover until 21, which I am. So once I graduate can I maintain the same insurance even if I am not directly working for the government (there is a good possibility I might eventually)?
Answer: As long as you are your mother's dependent and still a full time student, you can remain on her policy until you turn 26.
However, once you are on your own and earning a salary, you would need to find your own health care policy.

Answer: Gastric bypass is not considered cosmetic surgery! It is bariatric/weight loss surgery. I have Federal Blue Cross in a different state, but they covered everything except a deductible and copayments for the office visits.
What you need to do is call the # on the card and as a plan representative what your coverage is. It should be pretty much the same as mine, as these are negotiated on a national level as I understand it so that coverage is standardized between areas under the same carriers. So if you choose a particular carrier in your area you get pretty much the same coverage as anyone in some other area.
